The LS series engine was designed to be the only V-8 power plant for rear wheel drive GM cars and trucks. With that in mind, it became the most popular engine for modification in Hot Rod/Kit, street and strip, and even marine and light aircraft use! The LS is the easiest engine to build power from in the General Motors line. The LS1 Engine was first introduced in 1997, with 345 HP, and 300 Ft Lbs of torque. Highly acceptable numbers for a stock engine at the time! It was used in the Vette from 97 till 2004, when GM introduced the LS6, which was a LS1 High Performance Engine. To this day, it is still an LS series engine that powers the Vette.
The number of aftermarket performance parts, and the technology in the speed shops is crazy! One such speed shop, that emphasizes power and performance, is Golen Engine Performance in Hudson, NH. USA. At Golen, they have the knowledge and experience to build you a “moderately” powerful 400 HP engine, a “silly sick” 700+ HP LS1 High Performance engine, or a raging 1200 HP LSx beast! They have the shop to meet and exceed all your expectations, including a complete dyno room, where they test each engine after it is complete. There is nothing the team at Golen Engine Performance can’t do to meet your LS1 dreams! They have even built high performance engines for power boats! Contact them today, explain what your horsepower needs are, and they will build you an LS1 to satisfy your need for speed!
If you’re looking to build an engine with some real punch, there’s no better company to contact than Golen High-Performance Engines. The team at Golen can build an engine to your requirements that’ll push your car down the track faster than you thought possible! We specialize in the LS series GM engines including the LS7 engine, which is the largest, most powerful V-8 engine ever built. At 7.0 L, and 427 cu. In., This engine is an absolute monster and it only gets bigger with a visit to Golen Engine! This engine boasts 505 hp and 475 foot-pounds of torque. That is more than enough to snap your head back into the seat upon acceleration, but that’s just the start!
Made exclusively in Wixom, Michigan, the LS7 is extremely unique engine. This engine has been specifically race-developed, deriving from the C5R racing team. Many of the components that make up this great engine are derived from competition components, including the titanium intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves in the aluminum heads which are CNC ported. Each engine is hand built by a single, specially trained builder. With a 7000-RPM redline, this engine loves to be muscled.
The design team at GM has done everything they can to make this engine “race ready”, including a dry sump oiling system which will keep the engine lubricated during very high cornering loads in excess of 1G. The team at GM produces about 30 LS7 engine’s daily, and then they are shipped out to be mated up with a Corvette Z06 at the plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. So taking this block and putting some work in it by the engine technicians at Golen High-Performance Engines will easily give you over 700 hp with the proper heads and camshaft. If you’re ready to step up to the plate and order up some real high-performance, contact the team at Golen High-Performance Engines today. We can be reached at 1-800-591-9171.
